2024 Annie’s Project Course

This course is a discussion-based workshop bringing women together to learn from experts in production, financial management, human resources, marketing, and the legal field.  There is plenty of time for questions, sharing, reacting, and connecting with your presenters and fellow participants. It’s a relaxed, fun and dynamic way to learn, grow and meet other women in agriculture.

Dates and Times:  Wednesday evenings February 21, 28, March 6, 13, 20 and 27 from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM.

Location:  University of Maryland Extension-Queen Anne’s County, 505 Railroad Avenue, Suite 4, Centreville, MD 21617

Registration: The $50 Annie’s Project Course fee covers all sessions and materials. For those attending the course for FSA Borrower Training, the $150 fee covers all Annie’s Project Course sessions and materials and the FSA Borrower Training Fee.

Course Description: Annie’s project is designed to empower women in agriculture to manage information and learn about agriculture in a relaxed local network. The target audience is women with a passion for agriculture. Annie’s Project is a six-week course designed especially for women to help them develop their management and decision-making skills. Annie’s Project will help develop an understanding, interpretation, and opportunities in agriculture.

Project Topics cover the five areas of Risk Management

  1. Production
  2. Market
  3. Financial
  4. Legal Risk
  5. Human Resources

Virtual Option

Dates and Times:  Wednesday evenings February 21, 28, March 6, 13, 20 and 27 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Note: reading and project assignments outside of class time about 1 hour per week.

Location: Online (through Zoom)

Registration: The $50 Annie’s Project Course fee covers all sessions and materials. For those attending the course for FSA Borrower Training, the $150 fee covers all Annie’s Project Course sessions and materials and the FSA Borrower Training Fee.

Annie’s Project is approved for USDA FSA Borrower training. This includes classroom time and a workbook that will need to be completed.  There is an additional $100 charge for the FSA portion. More information about this is located at https://go.umd.edu/anniesprojectfsa.
